In African Americans (13.9%) and Hispanics, the number of people diagnosed younger than 50 years of age is even greater (18.9 %).

A 2014 study reported by the newspaper JAMA Surgery estimates that colon cancer will grow by 90% by 2030, and rectal cancer will rise by 124.2% in people 20 to 34.
